MARS HILL, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (13-14) took a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to the Mars Hill Lions (17-15), Wednesday afternoon. Though the game was a tough defensive battle with the two teams making great defensive plays, the Lady Rams took home the loss after allowing an early run to the Lions.

Things got tough for the Lady Rams as a first-inning WSSU fielding error allowed the only run of the game and left the Lady Rams trailing 1-0. The sole run was enough as neither team would cross the plate for the remainder of the game.

As a team, the Lady Rams totaled three hits in the game with three Lady Rams recording one hit each. The WSSU defense was definitely present, however, as the team held Mars Hill to just two hits in the game.
