Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (17-15, 9-1 CIAA, 4-0 CIAA South) had to hold off a talented Fayetteville State Lady Broncos (5-32) for a 2-0 win, Tuesday afternoon. In a game that featured a spectacular pitching performance by both teams, the Lady Rams scored a pair of unearned run in the first inning to take the victory.
The game featured some stellar pitching by both teams as the two pitchers combined to allow just three hits, five walks and 24 strikeouts in the game. WSSU junior pitcher Brittany Lane (4-3) took the victory, pitching all seven innings for the shutout win while allowing just one walk and recording 10 strikeouts.
WSSU junior Nikki Lynch went one-for-twp at the plate with a run scored while fellow junior Britney Cato added a hit as well.
