MANKATO, MN – The Winston-Salem State University duo of senior sprinter Shanika Lamons and freshman Michael Neal will compete for national championships tomorrow when both student-athletes take part in the finals of the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Both student-athletes qualified for the finals of their respective 200m dashes, Friday evening at the Myers Field House in Mankato, Minnesota. Lamons finished ninth in the women's 200m dash preliminaries with a 24.91 to qualify for the event finals tomorrow. Neal placed fourth in the preliminaries of the men's 200m dash with a 21.78 to qualify for the event finals.
Earlier in the day, Lamons placed 13th in the women's 60m dash with a 7.77 while Neal placed 14th in the men's 60m dash with a 6.93.
The Lady Rams 4x400m relay team will also take the track tomorrow when they take part in the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
