EMORY, Va. –The Winston-Salem State University volleyball team fell to Emory and Henry in Emory, Virginia Tuesday evening in three sets, (28-26, 25-23, 25-19).
The Rams are now (8-9, 4-5 CIAA) on the season.
How it Happened
EH scored the first point and kept the momentum going throughout the set. The Rams rallied to take a 13-6 lead, but Emory and Henry answered back with a 9-2 run to tie the match at 15. The match stayed tied causing someone to win by two and it was Emory and Henry that won the set 28-26 and took a 1-0 lead in the match.
Points were exchanged back and forth till Emory and Henry went on a scoring run taking the first lead in set two going up 10-6. The Rams used a 5-2 scoring run to come within one, but Emory and Henry scored five unanswered points to increase their lead and eventually took the set 25-23 and led the match 2-0.
The Rams were actually up 15-13 in set three, but EH used two big scoring runs to take the set 25-19 and won the match 3-0.
