WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team defeated North Greenville University 72-49 Wednesday evening inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams move to 2-1 on the season.
Amaya Tucker led the Rams with 27 points, followed by Jainaya Jones who had 19 points. Defensively, Jakaiya Mack recorded six rebounds.
The Crusaders opened the game on a 8-3 run before the Rams tied the game at 8-all and controlled the momentum for the rest of the game. WSSU finished quarter one up nine, 19-10.
WSSU went up 20 going into the half leading 20-13.
Winston-Salem State out-shout NGU 16-13 to go into the fourth quarter leading 59-25.
The Rams sealed the deal in the fourth quarter scoring off of seven turnovers to win the game 72-49.
Winston-Salem State University is back in action on the road Saturday, November 19 at USC-Aiken, Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
