Box Score 2 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University softball team dropped two contests to Claflin Saturday afternoon at Twin City Ballfield Complex.
The Rams fall to 12-10 (9-5 CIAA) after Claflin won game one, 10-0, and took game two, 5-0.
In between games, the Rams honored their two seniors, Alleshia Pullen and SeQuioa Wingfield.
How it Happened – Game 1
- The Panthers took an early 2-0 lead over the Rams in the top of the first inning.
- They then added five runs in the top of the second inning.
- Claflin secured their victory with three more runs in the top of the fourth inning.
- The Rams had two hits in the game from Angelina Garcia and Breauna Frye.
- Alexis Smith pitched the entire game and had two strikeouts.
How it Happened – Game 2
- The Panthers kept things rolling in the second game starting with scoring two runs in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Rams defense stepped up big, allowing the Panthers to score only three more runs. They added a run in the top of the third, fifth, and sixth inning.
- Winston had five hits on the day and Kendall Hudson threw the entire game with one strikeout.
The Rams host Benedict on April 28 at the Twin City Ballfields Complex. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
