CANTON, OHIO- The Winston-Salem State University football team opened the 2022 campaign falling to Central State 41-21 in the Black College Hall of Fame game inside the Tom Benson Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

RJ Mobley scored two touchdowns for the Rams and was named the Black College Hall of Fame Offensive Player of the game.
How it Happened
- CSU's Twon Hines scored with 14:29 left to play in the first quarter to give the Marauders a 7-0 lead over the Rams. Then, with 6:26 left in the quarter CSU added seven more points to the board off an interception to take a 14-0 lead over the Rams.
- Justin Fleming intercepted the ball to score for the Rams with 2:37 left to play in the first quarter to cut into Central State's lead.
- In the second quarter, RJ Mobley scored his first touchdown of the game to tie the score at 14.
- CSU scored with 1:27 to take a 21-14 lead going into the half.
- In the third quarter, Central State increased the score with 5:10 left to play to 27-14.
- WSSU's RJ Mobley kept the Rams in it scoring another touchdown with 3:06 left in the quarter. (27-21).
- It was all Central State after that, first scoring with four seconds left in the third quarter to take a 34-21 lead.
- CSU sealed the deal scoring one more time on a touchdown throw to Brandon Kyle with 12:31 remaining in the game.
Up next the Rams will play North Carolina Central on Saturday, September 10 in Durham, North Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
