Indoor Track and Field Back in Action Competing at the HBCU Showcase, Mondo College Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –The Winston-Salem State University Women's track and field team will begin the new year competing in two meets on Saturday, January 14th.  Some of the Rams will travel to compete at the HBCU Showcase sponsored by KPMG in New York, while the others will stay local and compete in the Mondo College Invitational at JDL.

Last Time Out
The Rams begun their season at the W-S College Kick-Off at the JDL Fast Track Lane on December 4th. Kennedy Alexander finished in first place in the high jump (1.68m, 5'6").

Athletes of the Week
Kennedy Alexander was named the CIAA Food Lion Women's Field Athlete of the Week for week one. She placed first in the JDL Early Bird Invitational with an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark of 1.68 (5'6") meters. The senior also posted a time of 26.85 in the 200-meter dash.

Up Next

The Rams will be back in action competing in the Coros Collegiate Challenge at the JDL Fast Track on Sunday, January 22nd.
