FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team fell 59-46 to Fayetteville State inside the Felton J. Capel Arena.
The Rams moved to 13-9 (9-5 CIAA), while the Broncos improve to 16-6 (12-2 CIAA).
Taniah Wilkins led the Rams with 13 points and nine rebounds, while
Valencia Carroll added 11 points.
Amaya Tucker scored 10 points on the day to go along with four steals.
The Rams opened the first quarter on a 7-0 scoring run. The Lady Broncos scored eight unanswered points to take an 8-7 lead with 4:14 to play in the quarter and ended the quarter leading 12-9.
Amaya Tucker hit a three to bring the Rams within one, 17-16 with 6:20 to play in the half. FSU went into halftime leading 32-18.
FSU outscored the Rams 17-14 to go up 42-39 going into the fourth quarter.
The Broncos went on to win 59-46 over the Rams.
