WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball closed out the regular season with a 62-42 victory over Livingstone College at the Joel Coliseum.
The Rams finished the season 15-9 (11-5 CIAA).
Hadiya Balser led all scorers with 15 points and 12 rebounds, her first double-double of the season.
Amaya Tucker and
Prophet Sheffield both had ten points each while
Kennedi Simmons finished with nine and
Valencia Carroll added eight.
WSSU dominated the game scoring 28 points in the paint and eight points off of fast breaks. The Rams finished the first quarter leading 13-4. They went into halftime leading 29-14 over the Blue Bears.
They finished the third quarter up 20, leading 42-22 and even though both teams scored 20 points each in the fourth, the Rams came out with the victory.
WSSU is back in action during the CIAA tournament February 21-25 at the CFG Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
