Last Time Out
The Rams played a doubleheader against Allen University and won both games 11-0 and 15-0.
In game one, the Rams took an early 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first after
Malia Simmons and
Taisha Bratton had RBIs to score the runners on base. The Rams added seven more runs in the top of the fifth to take an 11-0 mercy rule.
In game two, WSSU got on the board with three runs in the top of the second to take an early 3-0 lead after Zharia Williams hit a triple to right field to score
Sierra Crocker. The Rams added two more runs in the top of the third. WSSU then added five runs in the top of the fourth after
Taisha Bratton hit a triple scoring
Malia Simmons and
Aniyah Jackson had a 2RBI single to left field. Emma Echart had her first homerun as a Ram adding two more runs to the scoreboard. Winston would later add three more runs all in the top of the fifth to take the 15-0 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
CIAA Preseason:
Malia Simmons was named to the Preseason CIAA All-Conference Softball team. Overall, the rams were selected to finish sixth in the conference and third in the southern division.
Scouting Report:
Bluefield State is currently 3-4 on the season after losing both games of a doubleheader 12-4 and 12-2 against Tusculum University on February 21st.
