WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University softball team will face two SIAC opponents this week. The Rams will travel to Fort Valley, Georgia to take on Fort Valley State on March 14th then head to Columbia, South Carolina to take on Benedict College on March 15th.

CIAA Preseason:
Malia Simmons was named to the Preseason CIAA All-Conference Softball team. Overall, the rams were selected to finish sixth in the conference and third in the southern division.
Last Time Out (WSSU is 3-3)
The Rams played a doubleheader against Bluefield State on March 1st. The Rams defeated the Big Blue 10-0 before falling 12-10 in game two. They mercy ruled the Big Blue in game one but could not overcome the multiple walks in game two and suffered the lost.
Scouting Report:
Fort Valley is 5-11 this season and suffered two losses in the SIAC crossover on March 11th to Miles College and Spring Hill College.
Benedict College is 3-13 this season. They played Lane College on March 11 and fell 5-7.
