WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team fell to Elizabeth City State 72-62 inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams moved to (5-8, 0–4 CIAA).
Taniah Wilkins led the Rams with 14 points with seven rebounds, and
Tolisha Walker recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Kennedi Simmons also scored 13 points;
Christiana McLean chipped in 10 points.

The Rams went 24-of-46 from the field, 13 -of-23 from the free-throw line. The Rams grabbed 31 rebounds, 30 points off turnovers, 40 points in the paint, 17 bench points, and forced 37 turnovers.
In the first quarter, the Rams jumped out to an early 6-0 lead highlighted by a
Taniah Wilkins lay-up with 8:03 left. The Vikings quickly answered back with a 7-0 run making the score 7-6 with 5:16 left. The Rams closed out the quarter on a 6-0 run highlighted by a
Jakaiya Mack lay-up with 7 seconds left, making the score 14-10. In the second quarter, the Vikings went on an 8-0 run making the score 18-14 with 8:47 left.
Tolisha Walker ended the run with a lay-up making the score 18-16 with 7:59 left.
Jakaiya Mack went on a 9-0 run capped off with a jumper giving the Rams a 34-33 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Christiana McLean hit a jumper as she was fouled, connecting on the free-throw line, she gave the Rams a 48-42 lead with 1:48 left in the 3rd quarter. The Vikings would end the quarter with a 5-0 run closing the Rams lead to 48-47. In the fourth quarter,
Tolisha Walker pushed the lead back to three on a made lay-up with 8:12 left. The Vikings outscored the Rams 25-12 for the rest of the game.
