SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team drops its road game to Converse University 67-56 Friday Night.
The Rams moved 1-3 (0–0 CIAA) on the season.
Christiana Mclean led the Rams with a double-double of 14 points, while
Chloe Williams scored 11 points.

How it Happened
In the first quarter, the Rams took a 4-3 lead, on
Jakaiya Mack lay-up with 8:05 left. The Valkyries went on an 8-0 run, taking a 14-7 lead with 2:21 left. A Jalessa Lanier three-pointer cut the score to 14-11, with 1:25 remaining. The Valkyries took a 16-11 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, Converse went on a 7-2 run, taking an 23-13 with 7:01 left.
Sierra Hunter answered back with a lay-up, making the score 23-15 with 6:43 left. The Valkyries extended their lead to 34-17 with 1:17 remaining.
Christiana McLean cut the lead down to 34-21, on a lay-up with 18 seconds left. Converse took a 34-21 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter,
Sierra Hunter made the score 34-23, on a lay-up with 9:47 left. Back-to-back three-pointers by Converse pushed the lead to 40-23 with 7:52 left. The Rams went on a 5-0 run, cutting the score to 40-28, on a
La'Niya Simes and-one with 7:00 left. With the score 45-28 Converse, the Rams went on a 6-0 run making the score 45-34 on a
Christiana McLean lay-up with 4:48 left. Converse took a 56-41 lead into the 4th quarter.
In the fourth quarter,
Chloe Williams cut the score down to 57-34 with two made free-throws with 8:12 left.
La'Niya Simes made the score 60-47, on a lay-up with 4:16 left.
