WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Rams hit the road to face Center Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) foes Livingstone and Johnson C. Smith over the weekend and extended their win streak by defeating both the Blue Bears and the Golden Bulls.
The Rams swept Livingstone and Johnson C. Smith to move to 10-18 (9-4 CIAA, 8-0 division).
How it Happened – Game 1
Both teams were tied 2-2 after the first inning. The Rams then stepped on the gas, and they didn't let up, Steele doubled to left field which brought in 2 RBIs in the top of the second inning. Between the fourth and fifth innings the Rams brought in five runs. Which ultimately gave the Rams the win 11-2.
Alicia Carrington pitched the entire game with four strikeouts. Â
How it Happened – Game 2
The Rams jumped out to an early lead (6-0) through the first four innings. The Blue Bears got on the scoreboard with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, (6-2).
Alea'ah Graham singled to shortstop RBI, Tasia Bratton advanced to second and
Danasia Dupuy scored in the sixth. The Rams then went on to win the game with another run in the sixth and a run in the seventh (9-2).Â
Sierra Crocker pitched the entire game and had five strikeouts.
How it Happened – Game 1Â
The Golden Bulls jumped out to a 3-1 lead against the Rams early in the first inning. It took
Alicia Carrington scoring on a wild pitch in the second, and a Taisa Bratton RBI single, for
Aniyah Jackson to score in the third. Then,
Aniyah Jackson had an RBI double scoring
TaKara Ware in the fourth. These events quickly tied the game with 3 innings left. Ultimately, the sixth and seventh innings had the Rams written all over them with two late runs pushing WSSU to victory (6-4).Â
Alicia Carrington pitched the entire game with six strikeouts.Â
How it Happened – Game 2
The Rams jumped out to a great lead of (6-0) to start game two. This game was full of stolen bases as
Miranda Wilson and A. Carrington both stole home in the first inning. The Golden Bulls then did some scoring of their own by having three runners score in the third. At the top of the fourth
Taisha Bratton had an RBI single to advance a runner and sent A. Jackson home. In the fifth, M. Wilson stole home again,
Malia Simmons walked, RBI, and
Tyeisha Gist scored. Then A. Jackson hit an RBI triple, sending M. Simmons home. The Rams put the icing on the cake by scoring in the seventh to give them the final score of (11-3).Â

The Rams will be back in action on Saturday, April 20th hosting Claflin for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Twin Cities. It is also alumni weekend and all alumni are encouraged to come and cheer on the fans.
