WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University men's and women's cross-country teams begin their 2024 season campaign running in the Wilmington Beach Blast, hosted by UNC Wilmington tomorrow, September 6th.

Location: Olsen Park – 5510 Olsen Park Lane, Wilmington, NC
Time: Women – 6:30 p.m. Men – 7:00 p.m.
Course Description: The course is flat and fast with zero elevation change. The entrance to the park is off Corporate Drive.

Ram Returners:
On the men's side, the Rams welcomed back their lone senior,
Cecil Hairston Jr, and junior
Henry Weah. The team welcomed four newcomers (E'Maije Ambrose, Christian Brown,
Zachary Patrick, and Nile Thaxton) during the off-season.
On the women's side, returning for WSSU are senior,
Tinasia Davis, juniors
Daijion Lee, and
Jaiyah Nelson, and sophomores
Elicia Bryant and
Briyana Tillman. The Rams welcomed two newcomers during the off-season, Kayla Nobles and
Rainn Sheppard.
Last Time Out:
Cecil Hairston Jr had the top time on the men's side during the CIAA XC Championships and the women captured second place during championships in Salem, Virginia.
Up Next:
WSSU will travel to Misenheimer, North Carolina to compete in the Pfeiffer XC Invitational on September 14th.
