Winston-Salem, N.C.  – The Winston-Salem State University volleyball team fall to Shaw University 3-2, inside Whitaker Gymnasium. 

The Rams moved to 11-9 (8-3 CIAA) on the season.

How It Happened vs.Shaw University  (25-21, 26-24, 26-24, 25-21, 15-13)

In set one, a Shaw error tied the game at 3-3. Shaw went on a 4-0 run, taking an 8-4 lead. The Rams cut the Rams lead to 14-11. The Bears went on a 4-1 run, extending their lead to 20-15. WSSU went on a 3-0 run, cutting the lead to 20-18 on a Aria Caldwell kill. Shaw took set one 25-21. 

In set two, an error cut the Bears lead to 5-4. Shaw went on a 5-0 run, extending their lead to 9-5. A Zoe Chesson kill, cut the Bears lead 11-8. Zoe Chesson tied the game at 13-13. A Aria Caldwell kill gave the Rams a 15-14 lead. The Bears extended their lead to 19-16. The Rams went on a 5-0 run, taking a 21-16 lead on a Bears error.  The Bears tied the game at 23-23 with a kill. The Rams took set two 26-24 on a Shaw error.

In set three, a Kamiyah Wilson kill tied the game at 4-4. Aria Caldwell gave the Rams a 8-7. A Kamiyah Wilson kill gave the Rams a 13-11 lead. The Rams extended their lead to 17-13 on a Zaria Keys kill. Shaw tied the game at 22-22, on a kill. WSSU took the lead back 23-22 on a Bears attack error. Shaw took set three 26-24.

In set four, Shaw took an early 6-1 lead with a kill. A Zaria Keys ace cut the Bears lead to 6-3. WSSU went on a 4-0 run, tying the game at 10-10 with an Angelica Turnage kill.  The Bears took a 15-12 lead on a kill. The Rams went on a 4-1 run, taking a 22-20 lead on a Bears error. The Rams took set four 25-21. 

In set five, the Bears took an early 3-1 lead on an ace.  Shaw went on a 3-0 run, extending their lead to 7-3 on another ace. The Rams cut the score to 8-5 on a Shaw attack error. WSSU went on a 4-0 run, cutting the lead 13-11, on a Holiday Ellis kill. Shaw took set five 15-13.
