WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Two Rams from the Winston-Salem State University football team have earned Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) weekly honors for week five, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Jahari Mitchell (Shelby, NC) was named CIAA Receiver of the Week after a dominant showing in the passing game. The junior hauled in five receptions for 151 yards and three touchdowns, including a game-long 46-yard score.

Evan Powell (Mebane, NC) was named CIAA Defensive Back of the Week after anchoring the Rams' defense with a team-high 15 tackles, including six solo stops and nine assists.

The Rams will be back in action on Saturday, October 11 taking on Shaw University at 1:00 p.m.
