WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - For the second time this season, Ah'Kiyah Pye from the Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team has been named Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Rookie of the Week for week five, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Pye, a red-shirt freshman from Highland Springs, Virginia earned the honors after delivering her best performance on December 11 against Francis Marion, scoring 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting while adding two blocks, one assist, and one steal in a 63–53 victory. 
 
She followed with a steady outing at Bowie State on December 13, contributing across the stat sheet as the Rams secured their first conference victory of the season. For the week, Pye totaled 23 points, six rebounds, one assist, and three steals.

Pye and the Rams will be back in action tonight, December 15 taking on Lincoln (Pa.) in Wilimington, Delaware.
