Athens, W.V. – The Winston-Salem State University volleyball team wraps up the Concord Classic 1-3 after the two-day tournament in Athens, West Virginia.
Zoe Chesson was named to the All-Tournament team.
The Rams moved to 2–3 (0-0 CIAA) on the season.

In set two, the Rams went on a 3-0 run, taking a 6-5 lead on a
Jordin Whitney kill. A service ace by the Tar tied the game at 10-10. Rollins went on a 5-0 run, extending their lead to 17-13. WSSU answered back, cutting the lead down 20-17 on an attack error. Rollins closed out the set on a 5-2 run, taking set two 25-19.

Kamiyah Wilson kill. WSSU went on a 5-0 run, extending their lead to 16-11 on a Zaria Key service ace. Rollins answered back with a 3-0 run, cutting the lead to 16-14. With the game tied at 19-19, closing out the set on 6-0 run, the Rams took set three 25-19.

Kamiyah Wilson. The Tar went on 4-0 run, extending their lead to 8-5. Rollins extended their lead to 15-9. The Rams went on a 4-1 run, cutting the lead to 16-13 on a bad set. Rollins went on a 4-0 run, giving them a 23-15 lead. Rollins took set four 25-17.

Angelica Turnage gave the Rams a 12-11 lead with a kill. The Bobcats went on a 3-0 run, taking a 18-16 lead. Answering back with their own 3-0 run, the Rams regained the lead 19-18. The Bobcats extended their lead to 23-20. The Bobcats took set two 25-22.
In set two, the Rams opened set two strong with a block from, giving them an early 5-3 lead. After a back-and-forth stretch, the Bobcats tied the game at 10-10. A service ace by Jada Smith put the Rams ahead 12-10. The Bobcats responded with a 4-1 run to take a 14-13 lead. WSSU regained momentum behind a kill from, pushing ahead 18-17. West Virginia Wesleyan answered with a 5-2 run to make it 22-20. Despite a late push by the Rams, the Bobcats held on to take set two 25-22.
In set three, WSSU came out aggressive in set three, jumping to a 7-4 lead after back-to-back kills from
Angelica Turnage. The Bobcats rallied to even the score at 9-9. A block by and a Bobcat error gave the Rams an 11-9 edge. Both teams traded points until a 4-0 run sparked by a
Holiday Ellis kill gave WSSU a 19-15 lead. The Rams maintained their advantage, slamming down set point to give WSSU the 25-21 win.
In set four, the Bobcats opened set four with a quick 4-1 burst, but WSSU answered with a 5-0 run to take a 6-4 lead, capped by a service ace from Amaya Allen. The Rams continued to apply pressure, extending their lead to 13-9 behind strong net play. West Virginia Wesleyan fought back to tie the game at 17-17. A crucial dig by Jada Smith led to a go-ahead point, giving the Rams an 18-17 lead. WSSU closed strong, winning five of the last six points. A final kill by Sydney Foster sealed the set 25-20 and the match victory for the Rams.
