Greenwood, S.C. – The Winston-Salem State University volleyball team split both games of the Redderson Invitational on Saturday. First defeating St.Anselm College 3-2, then later falling to Lander University 3-1.
The Rams moved to 2–3 (0-0 CIAA) on the season.

How It Happened vs.St. Anselm College (25-19, 25-19, 26-24, 25-12, 15-8)
In set one, Aria Caldwell tied the game early at 3-3 with a kill. The Hawks answered back taking a 10-7 lead on a kill. Going on a 5-1 run, St. Anselm pushed their lead to 17-12. The Hawks took set one 25-19.
In set two, the Rams took a 5-4 lead on an Angelica Turnage kill. A 4-0 run extending Rams lead to 11-8, on an attack error by the Hawks. The Rams went on another 4-0 run, making the score 20-14 on a Hawks error. The Rams took set two 25-19.
In set three, St. Anselm went on a 4-0 run giving the Hawks a 11-7 lead. WSSU fought back going on their own 4-0 run, taking a 13-12 lead on a Holiday Ellis kill. With the game tied at 14-14, the Rams went on a 6-1 run extending their lead to 20-14 with a Zoe Chesson kill. A Malani Martin kill gave the Rams a 23-22 lead on a kill. The Hawks closed the set on a 4-1 run, taking set three 26-24.
In set four, a Angelica Turnage kill gave the Rams a quick 7-1 lead. The Rams went on a 7-0 run highlighted by three straight kills by Holiday Ellis, giving the Rams a 21-8 lead. The Rams took set four 25-12.
In set five, WSSU took a 6-1 lead on a Kamiyah Wilson kill. The Rams extended their lead to 10-4, on a Angelica Turnage kill. The Rams took set five 15-8.

In set one, the Rams took an early 3-1 run on a Bearcats attack error. Lander went on a 4-1 run, trying the game at 8-8. The Bearcats would take a 12-10 lead on a kill. WSSU went on a 5-1 run, taking a 17-15 lead on a Zoe Chesson kill. A Kalyn Cuthbertson kill, extended the Rams lead to 23-18. The Bearcats answered back, going on a 6-0, taking a 24-23 lead. Lander took set one 27-25.
In set two, Lander took a 4-1 lead with a kill. The Rams went on a 4-1 run taking a 8-7 lead, on a Holiday Ellis kill. A Jordin Whitiney kill extended the Rams lead to 14-10. A Celina Johnson ace gave the Rams a 23-18 lead. Lander went on a 4-0 run, cutting the Rams lead down to 23-22. The Rams took set two 26-24.
In set three, Lander took a 4-1 lead with a kill. The Rams went on a 4-1 run taking a 9-8 lead, on a Angelica Turnage kill. The Bearcats went on a 7-1 run, giving them a 15-10 lead. With another Angelica Turnage kill, cut the Bearcats lead to 21-18. Lander took set three 25-21 .
In set four, the Bearcats took a 5-2 lead with a kill. Lander would go on a 10-1 run, extending their lead to 19-9. The Rams cut into the Bearcats lead, making the score 19-11 on an ace by Tiffany Blakley. The Bearcats took set four 25-14.
