WESTON, Fla. – The Winston-Salem State University men's golf team delivered a strong performance at the Arcis HBCU Championship, finishing second overall in the Division II team standings at The Club at Weston Hills.
The Rams posted a three-round total of +51, placing just behind tournament champion Miles College in a competitive six-team field that featured several HBCU programs.
Winston-Salem State remained near the top of the leaderboard throughout the two-day event, showcasing consistent scoring across the lineup and keeping pressure on the field entering the final round.
The Rams were led by
Godfrey Nsubuga, who turned in one of the top individual performances of the tournament. Nsubuga finished among the tournament's top performers and was part of a three-way tie for the individual lead after regulation, forcing a playoff to determine the individual champion.
WSSU's strong finish highlighted the depth of the Rams' lineup and their ability to compete with some of the top Division II HBCU programs in the country.
With the runner-up finish, Winston-Salem State continues to build momentum heading into the remainder of the spring season as the Rams prepare for upcoming tournaments and conference competition.
