WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University softball team dropped two games to Anderson University on Tuesday afternoon at Twin City Ballfields.

The Rams dropped game one 8-2 before dropping game two 11-0 in five innings.

WSSU is now 5-11 (2-4 CIAA) on the season.

How it happened – Game 1
AU got on board first in the top of the first inning. The Rams answered back in the bottom of the first inning on a single from Koralie Morin scoring Makayla Vinson. Anderson scored five runs through the second, third and fourth inning to take a 6-1 lead. They added another run in the top of the sixth before the Rams answered back in the bottom of the inning to cut into the 7-2 lead. Anderson scored one more run in the seventh to take the game.

Jyla Thomas pitched the entire game and had four strikeouts.

How it happened – Game 2
Anderson got on the board in the top of the third inning. They later scored 10 unanswered runs in the fifth inning to take the game.

Nevaeh Cruz pitched 4.0 innings and Jyla Thomas pitched 1.0 innings with one strikeout.

The Rams will be back in action on Thursday, April 4 at Barton in Wilson, North Carolina for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.
