Salisbury, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University softball team defeated Livingstone College Friday afternoon inside the Jaycee Optimist Sports Complex.
The Rams won game one 4-1 and took game two 10-2.
How it Happened
In game one, WSSU scored two runs in the top of the first inning to take an early 2-0 lead. The Blue Bears scored a run in the bottom of the second inning to cut into the Rams lead. WSSU scored two more runs in the top of the third inning to win the game.
Koralie Morin earned the win after pitching the entire game and had eight strikeouts.
In game two, Winston scored three runs in the top of the first inning and the Blue Bears answered back with two runs in the bottom of the first. Winston handled business the rest of the game scoring two runs in the third and three runs in the sixth inning to win 10-2.
Jyla Thomas earned the win after throwing 6.0 innings and had two strikeouts.
The Rams will be back in action on Friday May 1 at Shaw University. The doubleheader will begin at 1:00 p.m.
