Final Stats
RALEIGH, NC - Despite giving up two points to the Falcons because of forfeiture, the Winston-Salem State University women's tennis team earned their first win of the 2005-06 season on Thursday afternoon at Lions Park in Raleigh, NC as they defeated Saint Augustine's College by the score of 6-3.
The Lady Rams, who traveled with only five players, were forced to give up two points to the Falcons, one at sixth singles, and one at third doubles to give SAC a head start in the match.
However, the Lady Rams stood their ground and gave up only one match loss in the contest as they earned a 6-3 win, their first of the season.
With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 1-1 overall (1-0 CIAA). WSSU returns to action on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:00 pm when they play host to the Bulldogs of Bowie State University at the WSSU Tennis Complex.
