Three Rams Named to Tennis All-CIAA Team

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Excellence on the court has translated into conference recognition for the Winston-Salem State University women's tennis program, as McKinley Battle, Mikayla Stewart, and Kyla Burns have each earned All-CIAA honors, as announced by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

The trio played pivotal roles in the Rams' lineup throughout the season, showcasing consistency, competitiveness, and resilience against conference opponents.

Battle, a standout freshman, quickly established herself as one of the top players in the CIAA. Competing primarily in the No. 1 singles position, she consistently faced the league's best and delivered strong performances. Her ability to compete at a high level week in and week out, along with multiple conference weekly honors, solidified her place among the CIAA's elite.

Stewart also made a significant impact in her first season with the Rams. Splitting time between the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions, she provided stability in the middle of the lineup. Known for her composure and versatility, Stewart's contributions extended into doubles play, where she helped the Rams remain competitive in securing the crucial doubles point.

Burns, a veteran presence on the roster, brought leadership and experience to the court. Competing across multiple positions, she delivered key wins and served as a steady force for the Rams throughout the season. Her consistency and ability to perform in pressure moments were instrumental in the team's efforts during conference play.

Together, the three honorees formed the backbone of the Rams' lineup, demonstrating growth and determination as the season progressed.
