GAME NOTES
• Tuesday's meeting between the Rams and the Pioneers marks the eighth meeting between the two teams.
• The Rams now lead the all-time series, 8-0. Columbia Union has never defeated WSSU.
• The last meeting between the two teams came on Jan. 9, 2008 in Winston-Salem, N.C. in a contest that the Rams won 82-61 behind Jamal Durham's 17 point scoring performance.
• WSSU head coach Bobby Collins is now 86-107 overall in seven seasons (3rd season at WSSU where he is 21-50); Calvin Dunbar's career mark is now 18-126 (sixth season and sixth season at Columbia Union).
• Winston-Salem State moves to 4-8 overall with the win; Columbia Union falls to 1-12 with the loss.
• The game marked only the second home game for the Rams who started the 2008-09 season with nine consecutive games away from home (seven road games and two neutral-site contests) and who played 10 of their first 12 games away from the C.E. Gaines Center.
• The game will be the last time that WSSU plays a home game at the C.E. Gaines Center this season. The remainder of the Rams' contests will be played at the LJVM Coliseum or Coliseum Annex.
WINSTON-SALEM STATE NOTES
• WSSU started Jamal Durham, Paul Davis, Brian Fisher, Diontae Gibson and Isiah Tucker.
• With the start, Paul Davis has started all 12 of WSSU's games this season. He is the only WSSU player to start all 12 games.
• The Rams opened the conest with a 6-0 run and would never trail in the game. WSSU started the contest with a Brian Fisher three-pointer and a Paul Davis free-throw followed by a Davis lay-up.
• Senior forward Jamal Durham now has 1,026 points for his career. He has appeared in 97 games for the Rams and has turned in a career scoring average of 10.6 points per game. He ranks 22nd all-time in scoring at WSSU. With 15 points against Columbia Union he jumps past Eugene Smiley (1,022 points) into 22nd place.
• Jamal Durham's lay-up with 1:51 remaining in the first half gave the Rams their largest lead of the season at 20 points, surpassing a 19-point lead that the Rams held versus North Carolina Central on Dec. 18. The Rams would eventually stretch that lead into a season-high margin of ?? points.
• WSSU's 85 points scored marks a season high, surpassing the 68 total points scored in the win over Averett on Dec. 20.
• The Rams return to action on Jan. 10 as they face the Hawks of Maryland-Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Maryland.
COLUMBIA UNION NOTES
• Columbia Union started Anthony Linton, Jamarr Smapson, Jamie Newton, Mark McNair and Dana Clark.
• The Pioneers have now lost 12 consecutive contests. Columbia Union's last victory came on Nov. 15, 2008 in their season-opener versus Pfeiffer. The Pioneers defeated Pfeiffer 97-92 in that contest, their only victory of the 2008-09 season so far.
• The Pioneers return to action on Jan. 8, 2009 in Takoma Park, Maryland as they play host to the Tigers of Saint Paul's College.
• Columbia Union is a small private college near the nation's capital that places an emphasis on smaller classes that was founded in 1904 and is located in Takoma Park, Maryland. Boasting an enrollment of 2,500 students, the Pioneers have faced the Rams eight times, losing all eight contests.
