Final Stats
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Kayla Carter earned the Winston-Salem State University women's tennis team their only point on Sunday afternoon as the Lady Rams fell in defeat to the undefeated Queens University of Charlotte Royals at the WSSU Tennis Complex by the score of 6-1.
The Royals opened the match by securing the doubles point as Queens swept all three doubles matches in straight sets. Despite the 3-0 sweep the Royals would have difficulty as Sloane Holmes and Bianka Locklear narrowly fell in defeat 9-8 (8-6 tiebreaker) in the first doubles match as the Lady Rams barely dropped the decision.
Kayla Carter earned the Lady Rams their only point of the match at second singles as she cruised to an easy 6-3, 6-2 win over Erin Williams.
The loss drops the Lady Rams to 5-15 overall as Queens improves to 15-0 to remain undefeated on the year.
The Lady Rams return to action on Tuesday afternoon as they play host to Salem College at 1:00 p.m. in the final match of the season.
