Box Score WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (14-15, 6-1 CIAA) put on an offensive showcase when the team took a 15-0 win over the Livingstone Lady Blue Bears, Friday afternoon. The Lady Rams dominated both sides of the ball to take the shutout victory in the first home game of the season for the Lady Rams.
WSSU sophomore pitcher Yasmin Lee (6-9) put on a dominating effort in one of her best outings of the season. For the game, she allowed no runs and held the Blue Bears to just two hits in the game. She also finished the game with four strikeouts as well.
Offensively, the Lady Rams were led by a host of players, including junior right fielder Brittany Lane's two-for-two effort at the plate with a pair of runs scored and two RBI. Freshman catcher Bria Jones also had a stellar day with two hits, three RBI, and a pair of runs scored in the win.
The Lady Rams scored in each inning of the five-inning game, including scoring seven third inning runs. The opened the game with a pair of first inning runs, followed by four second-inning runs. After their big third inning, the Lady Rams capped their scoring with a pair of fourth-inning runs.
With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 14-15 and 6-1 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play. The win was also the team's first CIAA Southern Division win of the season as well.
