WINSTON-SALEM, NC –  The WSSU Ram scored four early run, two in the first and two in the third, to jump out to the early lead.

The Concord Mountain Lions answered with a run in the fourth, but Winston-Salem State got an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth to take game one of Sunday's Doubleheader, 5-1.

The Rams were led by catcher, Michael McNamara, who went 1 for 2 with two runs batted in and a double, and Emilio Abreu going 0 for 3 with a run batted in. Matt Mauldin went 1 for 3 with a run batted in. Randy Norris went 2 for 4 with a run scored and Brandon ford went 1 for 3 with a run scored and a run batted in and triple. Randal Ortiz finished 1 for 1 with two runs scored and a double and John Garcia went 1 for 3 with a run scored. Willie McRae went 1 for 2

Landon Biggs picked up the win for WSSU, going a complete game, 7.0 innings, allowing six hits and one earned run, while striking out seven.
