MOUNT OLIVE, NC - The Winston-Salem State Rams (24-10) struggled at the plate when the team took a 7-1 road loss to the Mount Olive Trojans (31-17), Tuesday afternoon. The Rams were able to get a run across the plate, but the team could not keep up with the hard-hitting Trojans. 

As a team, the Rams struggled to hit the ball in the tough loss. The Rams totaled four hits in the game with freshman shortstop Jasmine McCain notching two hits with a double and a run scored in the loss. Sophomores Tia Robinson and Nyla Howard were both able to notch hits of their own.

The Rams' sole run in the game came in the seventh inning when McCain took advantage of a Trojan fielding error to score.

Freshman Destiny Koonts (3-1) took the pitching loss for the Rams. She threw all six innings for the Rams with seven runs allowed (four earned) on eight hits with a strikeout.
