Charlotte, N.C. – Myra Wallace from the Winston-Salem State University volleyball team was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Defensive Player of the Week for week seven, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Wallace, a senior from Madison, Alabama totaled 41 digs over four matches to lead the Rams to a 3-1 record in conference action. In the four-set win over Virginia State, the senior recorded a season-high 25 digs and earned her 1,000th career dig in the process. She also had four service aces and four assists against the Trojans. The Madison, AL native had seven digs in matches against Elizabeth City State and Lincoln (PA).

Wallace and the Rams are back in action tonight in Emory, Virginia taking on Emory and Henry at 6 p.m.
