WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team defeated USC Aiken 54-45 inside C.E. Gaines Center Saturday afternoon.
The Rams improved to (3-1, 0-0 CIAA).
Sierra Hunter led the Rams with 13 points and five rebounds,
Tolisha Walker scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Taniah Wilkins chipped in with eight points.

The Rams went 5-7 from the free-throw line. The Rams also had 17 points off turnovers and 17 bench points. The Rams defense held the Pacers to 31% from the field. On the defensive side, the Rams forced 29 turnovers.
In the first quarter, the Rams started the game on an 8-0 run as all four field goals came in the paint. After a made three-pointer by the Pacers
Amaya Tucker hit a three-pointer to extend the lead to eight 11-3 with 4:11 left in the first quarter.
Chloe Williams hit a jump shot giving the Rams their largest lead of the first half 17-3. In the second quarter, the Pacers cut the score to 19-12, as
Christiana McLean made a lay-up to extend their lead to 22-12 with 4:57 left in the second quarter. After a
Taniah Wilkins lay-up the score at halftime Rams 28-19.
In the third quarter, the Rams went on a 5-0 run on a made lay-up by
Tolisha Walker made the score 34-19 with 9:03 left in the third quarter. The Pacers went on a 6-0 run making the score 37-31 with 5:15 left. The Rams fought back and made the lead double-digits on a
Sierra Hunter made jumper, in the middle of an 8-0 run capped off by a
Jainiya Jones made lay-up giving the Rams a 45-31 lead with 1:07 left..
Starasia Bell-Freeman hit a three-pointer at the end of the quarter giving the Rams a 48-33 lead. In the 4th quarter
Sierra Hunter gave the Rams their largest lead of the game 50-33.
The Rams will travel to Tigerville, South Carolina on Monday, November 20th, taking on North Greenville University at 5:00 p.m. inside Hayes Gymnasium.
