WINTER PARK, FL.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team fell short to Florida Southern College 67-58 on day one of the Rollins Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Rams moved to (3-3, 0-0 CIAA), while the Mocs improved to (4-0, 0-0 SSC).
Amaya Tucker led the Rams with 16 points and dished out eight assists, Kenned Simmons scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Tolisha Walker chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Rams went 22-of-51 from the field and 9-of-15 from three. The Rams grabbed 41 rebounds and 30 points in the paint.
In the first quarter, the Rams used an 8-0 run to take the lead 22-13 late in the first quarter highlighted by a made lay-up by
Taniah Wilkins off an Mocs turnover with 3:53 in the quarter. The Rams were outscored in the second quarter as the Mocs went into halftime with a 30-27 lead.
In the third quarter, the Mocs started the quarter on a 7-0 run,
Tolisha Walker ended the run with a lay-up which cut the Mocs lead to 37-31 with 7:38 left. With the Mocs up 51-38,
Amaya Tucker hit a big three-pointer to make the score 51-41 with 1:28 left. After the third quarter, the score was 56-43 Mocs.
In the fourth quarter, the Rams were able to slowly chip away at the Mocs lead. Two huge free throws by
Alexandria Warren cut the lead to single-digits 64-55 with 2:07 left. Jainiya Jones hit a big three-pointer cutting the lead to 64-58 with 1:39 left. Unfortunately, the Rams just couldn't get over the hump.
