WINTER PARK, FL.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team defeated Rollins College 65-55 on Saturday afternoon.
The Rams improved to (4-3, 0-0 CIAA).
Kennedi Simmons led the Rams with 23 points, and
Amaya Tucker scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Jainiya Jones chipped in with 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

The Rams went 24-of-61 from the field. The Rams grabbed 48 rebounds, and scored 24 points in the paint, 16 points off turnovers, and 17 second-chance points.
In the first quarter,
Sierra Hunter's jumper started a 7-0 run for the Rams making the score 13-10 with 3:35 left in the quarter. The Rams would finish the quarter on a 7-2 run leading 17-12. In the second quarter, the Rams started on a 10-0 run highlighted by
Amaya Tucker's back-to-back-to-back scores, two of them being three-pointers making the score 27-12 with 3:49 left in the quarter. The Rams went into halftime up 30-18.
In the third quarter,
Kennedi Simmons hit a jumper making the Rams lead 14 with 8:46 left in the quarter. Kennedi Simmon's three-pointer would give the Rams their largest lead of the game, 17 points, 49-32 with 2:22 left. The Rams lead after the third quarter 51-39. Ending the third quarter going into the fourth the Tar went on an 8-0 run which cut the lead to 51-44.
Kennedi Simmons scored the next five points to extend the Rams lead to 12 points 57-45 with 4:49 left.
