BOWIE, Md. – The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team fell to Bowie State Thursday evening inside A.C. Jordan Arena.
The Rams moved to 5-5 (0-1 CIAA) while the Bulldogs improved to 7-3 (2-1 CIAA).
Erin Hall led all scorers with eight points, followed by
Alexandria Warren with six points and six rebounds.
The Bulldogs started the first quarter on an 8-0 run until
Tolisha Walker hit a free throw to put the Rams on the board. BSU closed out the quarter leading 10-1. The Rams closed out another BSU run with a jumper from
Sierra Hunter to make the score 16-3 with 8:00 to play in the second quarter.
Amaya Tucker hit a jumper with 3:51 to play in the quarter as the Rams trailed 21-8. WSSU went into halftime trailing by 12, 24-12.
Entering the third, BSU kept their lead, but WSSU came within ten, 32-22 with 3:00 remaining in the quarter. BSU closed out the quarter leading 42-24. They finished the game winning 58-38.
