RICHMOND, V.A. - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team comes up short to Virginia Union despite a late comeback, 72-64 inside Barco Stevens Gym.
The Rams moved to (5-7, 0-3 CIAA).
Amaya Tucker led the Rams with 17 points, and
Christiana McLean scored 14 points.
Taniah Wilkins also scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds.

The Rams went 22-of-53 from the field. 16-of-23 from the free-throw line. The Rams grabbed 29 rebounds, 18 points off turnovers, scored 21 bench points, and forced 19 turnovers.
In the first quarter, the Panthers jumped out to an early 6-0 run extending their lead to 10-4 with 6:06 left.
Erin Hall ended the run with two free throws, making the score 10-6 with 5:48 left.

Christiana McLean jumper which gave the Rams the lead 29-27 with 2:32 left. The Panthers would tie the game back up and
Amaya Tucker hit a three-pointer putting the Rams back in front 32-29 with 1:32 left. The Rams would take a 32-29 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Panthers started on a 9-2 run giving them a four-point 38-34 lead with 7:16 left.
Amaya Tucker answered back with a three-pointer making the score 38-37 Panthers with 7:02 left.
Christiana McLean would cut the Panthers lead down to four with a lay-up 48-44 with 52 seconds left. The Panthers would lead 50-44 after the third quarter. In the fourth, down 61-50 with 4:58, the Rams went on a 7-0, highlighted by two huge

Taniah Wilkins made 1-of-2 cutting the score down to 68-64.
