RALEIGH, N.C. - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team fell to Shaw University 57-47 inside C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium Thursday night.
The Rams moved to (8-19, 2–15 CIAA).

The Rams grabbed 35 rebounds, scored 24 points in the paint and 18 points off turnovers with 13 steals, and 16 second chance points along with 16 bench points.
In the first quarter,
Kennedi Simmons tied the game 3-3, with a three-pointer with 7:34 left.
Chloe Williams gave the Rams their first lead of the game, 5-3 on a jumper with 7:15 remaining.
Erin Hall put the Rams back in front with a shifty lay-up 9-7 with 2:05 remaining. The Bears would take a 12-9 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter,
Tolisha Walker cut the Bears' lead down to two points 15-13 on a lay-up with 7:39 left.
Alexandria Warren got a steal as she passed to
Amaya Tucker, where Tucker laid it up tying the game 15-15 with 7:14 remaining.
Tolisha Walker put the Rams back in front with a free-throw 16-15 with 3:54 left. With the score 20-18 Bears,
Chloe Williams cut the lead to one point 20-19 connecting on a free-throw with 1:33 left.
Taniah Wilkins put the Rams back in the lead on a fastbreak lay-up 23-22 with 27 seconds left.
Amaya Tucker knocked down a jumper as time expired, tying the game 25-25 at halftime.
In the third quarter, with the score 32-28, Bears,
Kennedi Simmons cut it to 32-30 on a jumper with 6:49 left. The Bears went on a 6-1 run extending their lead to 38-31 with 1:51 remaining.
Sierra Hunter ended the run on a lay-up 38-33 with 1:40 left. The Bears took a 41-33 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the Bears extended the lead to 10 points 43-33 with 9:20 remaining.
Amaya Tucker cut the lead back to eight points on a jumper 43-35 with 8:59 left.
Amaya Tucker cut the Bears down to six points on a lay-up 47-41 with 3:39 remaining. The Bears went on a 10-0 run extending their lead to 57-41 with 56 seconds left.
