Lady Rams Defense Shines in Victory Over Lincoln (Pa.) Monday

Wilmington, DE -  The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team's win streak moves to eight, defeating Lincoln University (Pa.) 58-47, inside the Chase Fieldhouse. 
  
The Rams improved (8-1, 2-0 CIAA) on the season.

Jakaiya Mack led the Rams with 14 points and five steals, followed by Breonna Roaf with 13 points.

Quick Inside the Numbers
The Rams went 21-of-67 from the field, 4-of-18 from three, 12-of-15 from the free-throw line. The Rams grabbed 38 rebounds, scored 24 points in the paint, forced 28 turnovers, scored 30 points off turnovers, and had 21 steals. 

How It Happened
In the first quarter, the Lions went on a 7-2 run, taking a 12-5 lead on a three-pointer (5:54). An Alana Biosse jumper cut the score to 12-7 (4:42). LU extended their lead to 18-8 on a free-throw (0:54). Lincoln took a 18-10 lead in the second quarter. 

In the second quarter, the Rams went on a 16-0 run, taking a 26-18 lead on a Nevaeh Farmer three-pointer (4:05). A Taylor Simpson jumper gave the Rams a 30-19 lead (1:24). Lincoln closed the half on a 5-0 run, giving the Rams a 30-24 into halftime. 

In the third quarter, LU went on a 6-2 run, trimming the lead to 32-30 on two free-throws (8:23). A Jakaiya Mack jumper put the Rams ahead 37-34 (5:42). A Breonna Roaf three-pointer gave the Rams a 42-36 lead. WSSU took a 42-38 lead into halftime. 

In the fourth quarter, the Rams went on an 8-2 run, extending their lead to 50-40 on two Jakaiya Mack free-throws (6:57). The Rams grew out to 56-43 on a Maia Charles jumper (2:34). The Rams sealed the game at the free-throw line.

The Rams will travel to  Ferrum, Virginia, taking on Ferrum College on December 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. inside the Swartz Gymnasium.
