ORANGEBURG, SC - Five Rams from the Winston-Salem State University softball team garnered All-CIAA recognition at the end of the year banquet Wednesday evening.

Highlighting the awards was Jyla Thomas, sophomore pitcher from Xx who was named CIAA Pitcher of the Year. She was also named to the All-CIAA First Team.

Also named to the All-CIAA teams was senior catcher Miranda Wilson (All-CIAA Second Team) and senior outfielder Malia Simmons (All-CIAA Second Team).

Aaliyah Rodriguez (DP) and Makayla Vinson was named to the All-CIAA Rookie Team.

The Rams will open the tournament taking on Virginia State at 10:00 am on May 1st at the Orangeburg Recreation Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
