Baltimore, M.D.-  The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team defeats Bluefield State University 71-49, inside the CFG Bank Arena.

The Rams improved to 24-3 (14-2 CIAA, 8-2 South) on the season.

Makayla Waleed led the Rams with 19 points and was named the Food Lion MVP of the game. Jakaiya Mack had 13 points, and Maia Charles chipped in with 10 points.

The Rams went 31-of-69 from the field, 2-for-16 from three, and 7-of-13 from the free-throw line, grabbed 47rebounds, forced 32 turnovers, scored 52 points in the paint, and had 17 steals.  
 
 How It Happened
In the first quarter, Makayla Waleed gave the Rams a 7-6 lead on a lay-up (4:52). A Jahmaria Miles jumper tied the game at 11-11 (1:55). WSSU took a 13-11 lead into the second quarter. 

In the second quarter, a Jakaiya Mack jumper gave the Rams a 15-11 (9:37). The Blue Blue went on a quick 4-0 run, tying the game at 15-15 on a lay-up (9:03). WSSU answered back, going on a 7-3 run, taking a 22-18 lead on a Jakaiya Mack lay-up (8:00). The Rams extended the lead to 31-24 on a Jakaiya Mack lay-up, forcing the Big Blue to call a timeout (4:28). A Makayla Waleed three-pointer gave the Rams a 38-32 lead (0:54). WSSU took a 40-34 into halftime. 

In the third quarter, the Rams went on a 6-0 run, taking a 46-34 lead on a Nevaeh Farmer lay-up (5:12). A Jakaiya Mack lay-up gave the Rams a 53-41 lead (0:51). WSSU took a 55-43 lead into the fourth quarter. 

In the fourth quarter, the Rams' lead grew to 63-45 on Ah'Kiyah Pye jumper (4:35). The Lady Rams defense held the Big Blue to only six points for the remainder of the quarter.
