WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (10-6, 6-0 CIAA) held off the Johnson C. Smith Lady Golden Bulls in a 9-0 win, Friday morning at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division Round-Up. Though the Lady Rams allowed some key points to their division foes, the team would not give the win as they held on for the 9-0 victory.

The Lady Rams opened play on a high note with three straight wins in doubles play. The Lady Rams were especially impressive in doubles play, allowing just nine doubles points to the Golden Bulls. The team would keep their winning ways going in singles play with wins in all six matches. WSSU juniors Kayla Carter and Sloane Holmes both put on dominant performances with 6-0, 6-0 victories.
