Box Score ETTRICK, VA – The Winston-Salem State Rams (3-3) could not find any answers in a four-set loss to the Charleston (W.Va.) Golden Eagles (2-4) to close out the 2015 Virginia State Tournament. Though the Rams battled, the team could not get past the Golden Eagle defense in the 14-25, 25-18, 18-25, and 21-25 loss.
As a team, the kills were hard to find for the Rams with the team totaling just 21 kills and 13 attack errors in the loss. Junior outside hitter Teynia Shepherd led the way for the Rams with six kills in the match while freshman Tasia Chambers added four. Defensively, Shepherd, along with freshman Michelle Murray-Garcia recorded four digs each to lead the way for the Rams.
With the loss, the Rams fall to 3-3 on the season. The team will return to action, Tuesday evening when they head to nearby Salisbury, N.C. to take on the Catawba Indians.
