SPARTANBURG, SC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (6-5) had their four-match winning streak snapped when the team took a hard-fought 7-2 loss to the Converse Valyries. The Rams were able to get wins in doubles and singles play, but the team could not quite get enough to pull out the victory.

The Rams got things started with a 1-2 performance in doubles play. The duo of freshman Avion Harris and sophomore Cylah Gaither took an 8-3 win at #3 doubles. However, the team took an 8-1 loss at #1 singles and an 8-3 loss at #2 doubles.

In singles play, the Rams also claimed a singles win, but the team could pull out any more singles wins. Freshman Avion Harris recorded the only singles win of the match when she took a 6-1, 6-2 win at #5 singles. The Rams took losses in the remaining singles matches.

With the loss, the Rams fall to 6-5 overall. The team will return to action, Wednesday, when the team heads to Charlotte, N.C. to take on the Johnson C. Smith Lady Golden Bulls in a 1:00 p.m. match.
