HIGH POINT-N.C.- The Winston-Salem State Outdoor Track & Field team competed in the VertKlasse Meet hosted by High Point University on Friday, April 1-2. The Rams competed in 12 events, highlighted by Alyssa Farmer capturing second place in the discus throw with an impressive mark of 44.52m (146-1) and Kennedy Alexander capturing second place in the high jump (1.66m, 5-5.25) as well.

• In the discus, Alyssa Farmer captured second place with an incredible personal-best of 44.52m (146-1). Asia Lampe also threw a personal-best of 38.56m (126-6). 
• Vanessa Jones & Tamia McLean both competed in the 1500m run where they both ran personal-best times of 5:14.57 & 5:25.46, respectively. 
• Amique Willis competed in the 100m hurdles where she recorded a personal-best of 14.79.
• Amiyah Murray competed in the 100m hurdles, recording a time of 16.01.
• Essence Newkirk and Tinasia Davis competed in the 400m hurdles with times of 1:07.94 and 1:09.06.
• Tionna Wilson competed in the triple jump, recording a mark of 11.26m (36'11.5).
• Kennedy Alexander captured second place in the high jump with a mark of 1.66m (5-5.25).
• In the long jump, Nia Hester and Erykah Baldwin both recorded a personal-best with marks of 5.25m (17'2.75) & 4.63m (15'2.25), respectively.
• Asia Lampe & Eriana Townes both competed in the shot put with marks of 10.91m (35'9.50) and 9.34m (30-7.75), respectively. 
• Alyssa Farmer went along to throw a personal-best of 29.96m 98-3 in the Javelin.
• Baldwin, Willis, Oates and Raven Haston competed in the 4x1 relay finishing with a time of 48.52. 
• We had two 4x400 relay teams, Tamia McLean, Tiarra Smith, Imani Tatum, and Amique Willis recorded a time of 4:01.73; while Tinasia Davis, Vanessa Jones, Moriah Simmons, and Amiyah Murray recorded a time of 4:18.00.

The Winston-Salem State outdoor track and field team will be back in action April 9^th competing in the Aggie Invitational at NC A&T State University.
