CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
Kennedy Alexander and
Ronee Tudor from the Winston-Salem State University women's indoor track and field team picked up weekly honors the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Kennedy Alexander was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Field Athlete of the Week after finishing in second place in the high jump with a mark of 1.67m (5'5.75") at the Mondo College Invitational in Winston-Salem, NC last weekend. This mark surpasses her already provisional qualifying mark she set in December.
This is the second time this season Alexander has earned this honor.
Ronne Tudor was named the Food Lion Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Athlete of the Week after competing in multiple events at the Mondo College Invitational in Winston-Salem, NC last weekend. Tudor finished in first place in the 60m qualifying with a time of 7.79 before placing in seventh in the finals with a time of 7.89. The freshman from Charlotte, NC earned another top-10 finish, running a time of 26.74 in the 200m.
The Rams will be back in action on Sunday, January 22nd competing at the Coros Collegiate Challenge at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
