WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University indoor track and field team began its 24-25 indoor campaign at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kickoff on Saturday at the JDL complex.

Maeghan Wallace finished in 14th place in the shot put. (11.04m 36-02.75)
Alaina Moody had marks of 8.44m (27-08.25) to finish in 29th place.
How it Happened – Track Events
•
Kelis Miller had a personal-record time of 8.18 to finish in ninth place in the 60m prelims.
•
Jaynissa Cauthen came in ninth place in the 400m (1:03.15).
•
Daijion Lee finished in seventh place in the 400m seeded with a time of 1:01.45.
•
Layla Simpson came up huge for the Rams finishing in first place in the 60m hurdles (8.81).
•
Asheika Smith captured first place with a time of 1:40.59, while teammate
Simone Kelly finished in third place in the 600m with a time of 1:41.65.
• It was a 1-2 finish in the 800m with
Rainn Sheppard (2:27.27) and
Elicia Bryant (2:27.38) coming in first and second, respectively.
Tinasia Davis came in seventh (2:30.79),
Jaiyah Nelson (2:38.70) came in 12th and
Kayla Nobles (2:39.94) finished in 13th.

Kelis Miller also ran in the 200m and came in 14th with a time of 27.02.
•
Olivia Cosby captured first in the 200m seeded with a time of 25.51.
Allysa Fryer saw ninth place (26.70) and
Kamauree Randolph finished in 11th place (26.80).
• Kelly, Cosby, Smith and Simpson ran a time of 3:59.27 to capture first place in the 4x400m.
• Cauthen, Sheppard, Bryant and Davis captured fifth place in the 4x400m with a time of 4:06.48.
