MILL SPRING, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Tryon Banked Invitational on Friday, January 30.
How it Happened
In the 200m,
Olivia Cosby ran a season-best time of 25.12 to finish in third place. Briana Benloss (25.67),
Candace Morris (25.76),
Kamauree Randolph (26.04),
Simone Kelly (26.58),
Zaniah Field (26.83),
Janelle Codrington (27.07),
Malayasia Gabriel (27.26) and
Kelis Miller (27.97) all ran in the 200 as well.
Leigh Wills finished in 19th in the 400m with a time of 59.93.
Jaynissa Cauthen (1:02.39) and
Amiliana Simmons (1:03.11) finished in 30th and 34th, respectively.
Rainn Sheppard ran a time of 5:41.38 in the 1 mile.
Elicia Bryant finished in first place in the 3000m with a time of 11:19.79.
Ava Millner came in fourth with a time of 11:38.41 and
Kayla Nobles came in 13th with a time of 12:34.61.
Field Events
Trinity Brooks had a mark of 5.26m in the long jump.
Lanyjah Gunter (5.23m) and
Brooke Packingham jumped 5.07m.
Leila Henderson came in third in the shot put (13.03m).
Kaylee Thomas had a PR mark of 12.44m and
Maeghan Wallace had a season-best mark of 11.82m.
Jazmin Terry had a mark of 8.90m.
Gunter finished in eighth in the triple jump (11.45m), Packingham had a mark of 10.91m, Brooks had a mark of 10.84m and
Jayla Warren had a mark of 10.84m.
Alaina Moody had a PR throw of 11.75m in the weight throw and Terry had a throw of 10.06m.
The Rams will be back in action on February 6, at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at JDL.
