PINEHURST, N.C. - The Winston Salem State University golf team traveled for the CIAA Championships on April 15-16 at the Longleaf G&FC course. After the two-day event, the Rams finished in sixth place.
Virginia Union finished in first place with a total score of 868. Behind them was Fayetteville State with a total score of 873, and Livingstone College finished in third place with a total score of 876.
The Rams finished the first round with a total of 311, the second round with 305, and the third round with 319. During the two day event our Rams finished the tournament with a total score of 935 (+94).
Ahmad Raoul led the Rams finishing with a total score of 305.

VUU's Travon Willis was named Golfer of the Year and Head Coach Lee Coble was voted as the Golf Coach of the Year by the CIAA Golf Coaches Association.
Virginia Union secured the CIAA Northern Division title with a 295.67 conference performance. Fayetteville State won the Southern Division crown with a score of 297.67, while Livingstone finished with 297.89.
The Rams will participate in one more tournament, the PGA Works on May 4-5 in Ponte Verda, Florida.
