Track and Field to participate in Aggie Classic

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University women's outdoor track and field team will continue its regular season competition competing at the Aggie Classic hosted by North Carolina A&T State on April 18-19.

Last Time Out
WSSU captured second place at the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational hosted by Lenior-Rhyne. The Rams finished with a total of 106 points. Key finishes was Charnessa Reid in the 100m hurdles capturing first, Trinty Brooks capturing third in the triple jump and both relays, the 4x100 and 4x400m came in first place.
 
CIAA Weekly Awards
  • Charnessa Reid was named the CIAA Field Athlete of the Week for the first week of weekly honors after finishing in third place in the long jump with a mark of 5.58m (18-03.75).
  • Reid was named the CIAA Track Athlete of the week after her stellar time during the 100m hurdles at the Blue Bear Invitational.
  • For the third week in a row, Charnessa Reid earned CIAA honors. For week six, she was named the CIAA Track Athlete of the Week after finishing first in the 100mh with a time of 13.36 at the VertKlasse meet. That time ranks her first in the league and the nation.
  • Reid captured CIAA Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth consecutive some this season after finishing first in the 100m hurdles.
Atlantic Rankings
The USTFCCCA weekly ranking came in and WSSU is ranked third for checkpoint three.
 
Up Next
The Rams will compete in the 2025 CIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 2-3 in Durham, North Carolina.
